I have no doubt that Sara will continue to make a positive impact in the lives of students, helping them not only to excel in their studies but also to thrive in their personal development. She has a beautiful heart for the Lord and has extensive expertise in working with challenging behaviors and other obstacles facing kids and families within an educational context. It is my pleasure to highly recommend Sara Gurath to anyone who wants their kids to be taught by a warm, energetic, intelligent, highly experienced, connective teacher who has a lot to offer. Sara tutored my 11 and 12 year old girls for a year in math and also taught piano to my 11 year old. Both of my girls absolutely loved Sara and respected her input greatly.
Sara always came with a plan and input but was very flexible to work on what the girls needed to learn and was interested in. My daughters grew in confidence in their math skills such that, by the end of the year, both girls elected to take the more challenging "lane" of math classes starting in the fall. This is not what I would have expected at the beginning of the year when both of them self declared that they were "not good at math" and "hated math".
As a parent, I have appreciated that Sara was very prompt, professional and gracious. She's just a very mature person and delightful to interact with. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Sara is an outstanding teacher. She has over 29 years of teaching experience in K – 8th grade and has taught all three of my children. Sara is a woman who makes a life-long impression. Not only is she enthusiastic, but she is also kind, understanding, and very conscientious. She is organized and continually looks for ways to make her lessons interesting. Sara collaborates with other teachers and her ideas are fresh while addressing the necessary skillsets. She has mentored many new teachers over the years. I am always impressed at Sara’s ability to manage her classroom with a simple look and quiet request. She has conducted various teacher workshops including training teachers about techniques for better classroom management.
Sara is a topnotch teacher who can provide your child with everything you would want as a parent. She is an excellent tutor, music teacher, and also has over 29 years of experience as a school principal. Sara understands children and always addresses their individual needs. Her patience and wonderful sense of humor make learning fun. I have personally witnessed very timid children blossom and thrive under her nurturing style. I would highly recommend Sara for any position working with children, adolescents, and also adults.

Greetings,
Sara Gurath is a passionate, professional, inspirational, and visionary educator; my children
have thrived under her patient and enthusiastic guidance for the last four years, first when she
was the principal and teacher at a small private school, and later as a private tutor in a smaller
homeschool-ish situation. A few of Sara’s strengths:
1. She continually searches out and adopts best practices. After 25+ years of experience,
she still looks for new ways to help her students. On several occasions she has
researched methods to help meet the specific needs of my particular kids, reaching out
to experts in various fields for advice. She is an eager learner herself and never gets
stuck in doing things just because that’s how they’ve always been done. When she
revamped the entire organization of the school during our second year with her, she was
energetic and excited about starting something new that capitalized on each of her
fellow teachers’ strengths.
2. Sara is an optimistic problem-solver. When my children ran into writer’s block or got
stumped in math, she offered many solutions and provided custom-catered scaffolding to
help them over their obstacles. She makes her students feel like she is on their team and
that together they will figure out any tricky situations.
3. Sara creatively inspires her students. Her enthusiasm is contagious. When my daughter
wanted to create costumes for a Shakespeare play they were reading, Sara encouraged
her but let my daughter own the process. When Sara cast my introverted and
spotlight-avoiding son as a big part in the school play, he was inspired by her confidence
in him and shone on stage. Sara’s positive attitude means that even when students are
reluctant or discouraged they are still willing to try.
4. Sara is an organizer and a communicator. She always has a plan, is always thinking
ahead, and always lets everyone know, well in advance, what is expected. From her
neatly-lettered signs about school processes to her weekly emails about the week’s
curriculum, she makes the sometimes-messy educational process clear and accessible
to both students and parents.
Working with Sara as a partner in educating my children has been a joy, and I feel that any
student who has the good fortune to learn with her will reap lifelong benefits.
